Job's ethnology, value as creation and progress

Strong ethnicity that creates new art

-Kim Tae-gyun columnist

What is a job? There is always a negative connotation of what we know about being caught and deceived. However, it is not a matter of treating the meaning of job so simply. It is in the historical context. Starting from the conclusion, Jap (雜) was a historical disparity in terms of ethnicity and progressiveness. This is because jap (雜) has meaning for nationality and progressiveness.

Jobs were us. It is nothing but the strong artistic vitality of our nation. Today, in the realm of “Pax Americana”, American values and culture are best viewed, but in the traditional era, Chinese culture was the best value. In terms of aesthetics, the meaning of the cultural supreme was ‘아(雅)’.

At that time, I thought of China as everything in the world. As the meaning of China (中華), China recognized itself as a large country with the most colorful culture connected to the center of the world. As such, we, who always kept in mind the harmony with China, had a strong self-confidence called Soo-hwa That's our best. In such an accident, the best thing is to constantly abandon us and approach China. That was the thinking of the ruling class who lived in the traditional era.

Cultural coloniality, it was nothing but a rejection of national identity. Rather, they refused to be ethnic. And he regarded it as being caught and deceived.

So, while Chinese music is called Aak (雅樂), Korean music is called Sokak (俗樂) or Jap (雜樂). Also, it was said that the meaning of the periphery was diverse. Thus, the ethnology of jap (雜) was established in the separation of middle (中) and incense (鄕), a (雅), jap (雜) and genus (俗).

When Dangak (唐樂) of the Unified Silla Dynasty came into the distance past the Three Kingdoms Period, other music was called Hyangak. In addition, Hyangak includes the existing western music. Likewise, Buddhism becomes the national religion, and shamanism such as the celestial ideology with the veins of Dangun and the Samhan period Sodo descends to the base. It became a so-called job (雜) school (雜敎).

At that time, Gayain Uruk sang the Gayageum song from Gayageum. And they taught it to the sons of the Silla nobles, who modified the master's song to be ai-bul-bi (哀而不非) and to (joy而不流)-like. This was adopted as the royal music of Silla, Daeak. Perhaps Ureuk's song was abi (哀而非) and happily (樂而流). It must have been the music that was pathetic and joyful without fidelity. Likewise, the song containing the sincere heart of the Gaya people was mischievous, and such a mischievous one is “abi (哀而非) and discouraged music. On the other hand, I thought that the royal music, Daeak, should be a music that is both jungjeol (中絶) and friendly (雅正) music.

When you come to Goryeo, the music of the mischief is on the rise. Well, even though it is called a job. There are songs with outright sexual feelings like Dongdong and Manjeonchun, and like Hallim Byeolgok, he sang while drinking alcohol while forgetting his status. Some say that the Goryeo Dynasty was the most ethnically inclined era of the Korean people's historical period. It is not because of that reason, but it is true that in the Goryeo Dynasty, mischievous sok music flourished. From a historical perspective, Goryeo Song is a reflection of life's positivity and dynamism, not avoidance.

Joseon, armed with Confucianism, denied Goryeo and revived a new culture. In fact, the Joseon Dynasty had a philosophical state that was deep enough to discuss the fundamentals of Confucianism. Confucianism understood evil as the most absolute and supreme state of human beings. This can be defined in one word, “pre-accurate politics”. Chosun institutionalized a full-scale social norm through the art of making a book as an example and a harmony as an evil.

The best of Yeak was Ah. The maintenance of the Joseon Sejongjo Aak also means that the foundation of Joseon society will be established. However, Sejong thinks that Aak is music in the category of Confucian texts, and this is not all. At the same time, he did not miss his interest in Sokak. However, in the eyes of the Joseon dynasty's grandfathers who wanted to establish a Confucian ideal state, it was to be corrected. The cults who have expanded Confucian literacy education nationwide through local bridges are constantly trying to improve Sokak. The high-ranking poets enjoyed poetry as liberal arts, as it was called “shiseoyeak”, and the poetry was nothing but Chinese poetry. There was also a change in the poetry of Daemunho, which represents the literary tradition of the 500th year of the Joseon Dynasty. The Sadaebu tailored the songs of the private sector with their own aesthetics. In other words, other than the poems they enjoy, all of the songs of the past were called “sokga” or “japga”. All other poems other than the Chinese style were called japga (雜歌).

Although there was an independent effort to achieve the Joseon dynasty of Shinwi, it can be presumed that the songs of the private sector also had a lot of influence on the song culture of Joseon society through steady development. In regards to this, if you look at the Seoeobu-hu (書漁父歌後) in Toegye Sensei's book,'What is the reason that people listened to the Ssanghwajeom song, which means they listened to Ssanghwajeom, and when they heard a fisherman, they hate it, and they do not like it. How do you know the musicians?-How can it be compared to how secular people like Jeongwi and add lust and make them debauchery as if they were listening to Oksuhu Jeonghwa?' Although it was in the middle of the Joseon dynasty, Goryeo songs still had a valid wave.

As you can see, Goryeo Songs were also called Goryeo Sokyo, but it has already been revealed that the large-yeop form of Jeong Sang-gok (鄭瓜亭曲) developed into Man, Jung, and Sakdae-yeop representing Joseon poetry. This Jeonggyokgok was also referred to as the so-called Simbanggok (心方曲), which is usually associated with the samurai (舞歌). This song has developed into a song called Mannyeonjanghwanjigok. At that time, among the poems of the Joseon dynasty, there were Jang and Danga, and other Korean poetry such as Byeolgok developed, but Gagok also emerged as a new song style and gained popularity among the people. It was called japga (雜歌) if it was a dandori about such a tendency, but when the lyrics came out again, it was called ‘japga (雜歌).' In ‘Seopo Manpil’, it is said that this lyrics, which is a jap-ga (雜歌), was made and sung by a clown.

If you listen to the lyrics now, you have a sensibility that is not as easy as possible to be comparable to the aesthetics of the grandfathers. And when pansori came out, it was called'jap(雜)ga' again. And lyrics, which are the existing songs, have been called lyrics outside the name of Japga (雜歌). And with the Gyeonggi and Seodo japga that we know today, pansori escapes from the japga. Now, there are japga along with japga, but since no new songs have been made, only japga has increased.

It's simple, but if you look at the history of singing, you can roughly examine the layers of the upper and lower layers (or bases) who enjoyed the singing culture. The upper class constantly imitated the Chinese style and tried to assimilate the lower class by constantly expanding their cultural tastes, while the lower class always created new songs based on their own cultural foundation.

In a way, this is the vitality of the base layer. That's because the vitality is based on life. That's because the vitality is based on life. That is, a life of productive power. Job (雜) has a strong meaning as a generic name for something new in a certain reserved state, and is also a reflection of a disparaging view of newness. Can we easily overlook the meaning of jap in our music history? In a way, it seems that our music history is a history of jap that constantly pursues newness.

Just as it is historical progress to always throw away the old and find new ones, it seems that it is the national and new hope of the job. In conclusion, Job's ethnology can be said to be a strong ethnicity that creates new art that constantly has national vitality in the background of life called the base.

It is the spring in which the vitality of the job, that is, diversity and creativity, comes back to life as a rough vitality. Such a spring of democracy also awaits.
