윤석열 대통령이 16일(현지시간) 미 아시아태평양경제협력체(APEC) 정상회의 참석을 계기로 시진핑 중국 국가주석과 1년 만에 만나 악수하고 대화를 나눴다고 대통령실이 전했다.
김태효 국가안보실 제1차장은 이날 현지 브리핑에서 윤 대통령이 캘리포니아주 샌프란시스코 모스코니센터에서 열린 아시아태평양경제협력체(APEC) 정상회의 제1세션 전 회의장에서 시 주석을 만나 인사를 나눴다고 전했다.
윤 대통령은 APEC 정상회의 세션1 시작 전 시 주석과 약 3~4분간 담소를 나눈 가운데 한·중 정상 간 대면은 윤 대통령 취임 후 이번이 두 번째다.
윤 대통령이 "이번 APEC 계기 좋은 성과를 거두길 바란다"고 덕담을 건네자 시 주석은 "좋은 성과를 확신한다"며 "이를 위해 한중이 서로 협력해 나가길 희망한다"고 말했다고 전해졌다.
