브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 오세훈 서울시장은 최근 난방비 폭등 사태에 대해 "문재인 정부 시절 포퓰리즘으로 에너지 가격 상승을 인위적으로 막아 오늘의 폭등 사태를 초래했다"고 주장했다.
오세훈 시장은 26일 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "이재명 민주당 대표가 에너지 지원금으로 7조5000억원을 제안했는데 오늘의 폭등 사태를 초래한 데 대해 사과부터 하는 게 국민에 대한 도리"라며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "한국전력은 박근혜 정부 시절 연간 4~12조원 규모의 영업이익을 내던 탄탄한 기업이었지만 문재인 정부의 탈원전과 요금 억제 정책으로 점점 적자폭이 커져 지난해에만 30조원의 적자를 내며 회사채를 발행해야 겨우 연명하는 부실기업으로 전락했다"고 지적했다.
이어 그는 "그 결과 국제 에너지 가격의 변동폭이 커질 때 한전이 완충 역할을 전혀 하지 못하고 상승의 충격이 고스란히 국민들에게 전달되는 현실이 안타깝다"고 주장했다.
오 시장은 27일에도 민주당의 에너지지원금 지급 제안을 두고 "(에너지 지원금을) 국민 80%에게 지원하는 것은 서민과 중산층까지 겨냥한 선거 전략에 지나지 않는다"며 "이는 과도하기 때문에 감당 가능하지도, 지속 가능하지도 않다. 국가 부채는 미래 세대의 부를 미리 가져다 쓰는 것임을 잊지 말아야 한다"고 비판했다.
