김슬옹 원장은 고등학교 1학년 때부터 한글운동을 시작하여 45년간 한글문화 발전에 이바지하였으며, 훈민정음 해례본 원본을 최초 복간본 학술책임자로 복간하였다. 또한 2022년, 세계 최초 ‘훈민정음 해례본 손바닥 책(한국어, 영문)’을 개발하여 전 세계에 보급하여 한류의 원천인 훈민정음 해례본의 가치를 세계에 알리는 데 이바지했다.
