Regarding the agreement on the next year's budget bill between the ruling and opposition parties, which was dramatically reached the day before the 23rd, the President's Office said, "We tried to inject finance to create more jobs and stimulate the economy by serving the people, but the people's livelihood budget was fading due to force."
Lee Jae-myeong, deputy spokesman for the presidential office, said at a briefing at the Yongsan presidential office that day, "We had no choice but to agree in a situation where the national economy is difficult and there are concerns about foreign creditors, but it is regrettable."
At the same time, he added, "I am concerned about whether I will be able to overcome the economic crisis as it is, and the Yoon Seok-yeol government will silently do my best."
The ruling and opposition parties agreed to increase the budget by 3.5 trillion to 4 trillion while reducing 4.6 trillion won from next year's budget proposal of 639 trillion submitted by the government. The top tax rate was cut by 1%.
