The presidential office is taking on the aspect of an all-out war, sticking to the stance of hardline response to the refusal of collective transportation by the cargo union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, which has been going on for the fourth day.

Lee Jae-myeong, deputy spokesman for the President's Office, expressed a hardline stance regarding the strike by the cargo union on the 27th, saying, "It threatens the people's livelihood and the national economy," and "We will take the lead in responding to public safety and convenience."

At the same time, he said, “In a situation where economic instability is high and the government and the private sector have to join forces with all their might, we can’t help but worry about the freight solidarity group transportation incident.” said.

"Especially, construction sites are directly hit by the shortage of ready-mixed concrete due to disruptions in cement transportation," he said. "70 to 80% of the vehicles at the four major oil refineries are operated by members of the Cargo Workers' Union, causing disruptions in the supply of gasoline and kerosene to gas stations if the situation is prolonged. There is a risk of this happening," he said.

He added, "From the beginning of this week, we expect damage to various industries, including the construction industry, to begin in earnest."

In addition, regarding President Yoon Seok-yeol's mention of the invocation of the business start order on the 24th, he said, "Various reviews are being conducted in practice, but it is difficult to specify the timing and requires in-depth discussion." This is attracting attention as it is likely to be seen in the results of the deliberation of the cargo union's business start order at the Cabinet meeting scheduled for the 29th.

While the government plans to hold a major headquarters meeting presided over by Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min on the 28th to discuss specific measures to respond to the general strike by the cargo union, it is known that the President's office is also reviewing a plan to claim damages related to the strike by the cargo union. do.
