A woman who led the times, a human rights activist commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mrs. Lee Hee-ho

Shin Nak-gyun's Welcoming Remarks "Human rights activist - the path of hardship and conviction who fought against dictatorship, pursued peaceful unification, and took the lead in the women's rights movement"

-Kim Keyman, columnist

September 21st is the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late Mrs. Lee Hee-ho (李姬鎬, 1922-2019, photos 2 and 3), who lived 97 years in a time of turbulence and turbulence. A commemoration ceremony was held for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ms. Lee at the Small and Medium-sized Kihyup (中小企協) Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. It was an event that was jointly proposed by 128 people, including former lawmaker Shin Nak-gyun (former Minister of Culture), who was the chairperson of the promotion committee for Mrs. Lee's memorial project.

In a welcoming speech, Chairman Shin Nak-gyun said, "In an era when women were particularly harsh, Mrs. Lee Hee-ho was a woman and human rights activist who took the lead for a better life for women. The path of hardship and faith gave hope to the daughters of this land.”

In a retrospective, No-gap Kwon (92), a senior adviser to the Democratic Party, who is the 'permanent DJ's chief of staff', said in a retrospective, "It should also be noted that Mrs. Lee was already involved in civil society movements with national leaders when she was young in her 20s and 30s." "He was a warm-hearted person with strong will and conviction like steel and never giving up," he said.

Another DJ, former National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang, said in a congratulatory speech, "When the president passed away in 2009, Mrs. Madame said, 'I have no choice but to respect you, who overcame a life of pain, trials, and death crisis with conscience and faith and eventually won. ' He said, "I want to return those words to Ms. Lee as it was, as this was also the case with Ms. Lee's life."

This woman's son, Congressman Kim Hong-geol, drew attention by revealing aspects of his parents that had not been mentioned much until now.

“Many people highly value a life consistent with goals for democracy, human rights, gender equality, and peace on the Korean Peninsula. The trajectory of intense action to achieve those goals is true. I want to emphasize the fact that he wanted to live a life of virtue. In some ways, it is reminiscent of Saint Gandhi, who fought bitterly with England but was consistent with the 'non-violent movement'".

Next, a short lecture by Professor Shin Kyung-ah (former president of the Korean Women's Association) was held under the title of <Hee-Ho Lee's Faith and Passion who Opened Gender Equal Democracy>.

The ceremony ended with the reading of her tribute letter to Mrs. Lee and a commemorative performance.

Ewha Womans Jeon-Seoul National University- She studied at an American university at the age of 40 and was a YWCA general secretary who led the Korean women's world at the age of 40. By marrying Kim Dae-jung, a 'politician' two years younger than him (but still alive in spirit), on May 10, 1962, it marked a major turning point and an important beginning in a completely new life for DJ. Her motherhood, eternity, and the Christian spirit to save the lost sheep may have been the mother of the path,

In that regard, I absolutely agree with the saying "There is no Kim Dae-jung without Hee-ho Lee" (若無姬鎬, 是無大中).

She respects and loves President Kim Dae-jung. At the same time, I really wanted to say "thank you" to Ms. Hee-ho Lee, who was her wife, her comrade and lifelong companion for making such a DJ. She said, "Thank you, sincerely..".
