【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도가 산업통상자원부에서 공모한 2022년도 산업혁신기반구축사업 미래기술선도형 과제인 ‘MV 및 응용제품 배터리 안전성 평가기반 구축 사업’에 선정됐다.
본 사업은 급격하게 시장이 확대되고 있는 Micro Vehicle(MV)용 배터리 안전성 검증을 지원해 화재 예방 및 안전성이 확보된 배터리 산업의 활성화를 위한 전주기적 지원 기반을 구축하는 사업이다.
충북테크노파크(원장 노근호)가 사업을 주관하고 한국기계전기전자시험연구원(원장 제대식)과 한국전지산업협회(협회장 전영현)가 참여해 청주 오창과 충북혁신도시에 ‘MV용 배터리 안전신뢰성 평가 시설’과 ‘화재안전성 시험 평가 시설’을 각각 구축하고 MV용 배터리 성능 및 화재안전성 시험 평가, 시제품 제작, 기술표준화 등 지원하게 된다.
오는 2026년까지 5년간 총 205억원의 사업비가 투입되며, 사업예산은 산업통상자원부, 충청북도, 청주시, 음성군이 분담할 예정이다.
이번 선정으로 충청북도와 청주시는 이차전지 소부장 특화단지를 중심으로 국내 최고 수준의 이차전지 제조·시험평가·분석 클러스터(가칭 BST (Battery Safety Testing)-ZONE)를 구축할 수 있게 되었다.
특히 본 사업과 동일 부지 내에 구축되는 충북TP 주관의 ‘이차전지 소재부품 시험평가 센터(2021~2023, 297억)‘와 KETI 주관의 ‘안전신뢰성기반 소재부품 시험분석 테스트베드(2022~2024, 450억)’와 연계해 소재·부품-셀-모듈/팩 - 응용제품으로 이어지는 이차전지 밸류체인 전주기를 원-스톱으로 지원할 수 있게 될 것으로 기대된다.
또한 이번 사업을 계기로 음성군은 기 구축된 인프라(음성ESS센터)와 추가예정 인프라 연계를 통해 이차전지와 관련 화두가 되고 있는 배터리 화재안전성에 대한 종합 시험인증 특구로써의 역할을 담당하고, 기업유입 등 지역경제 활성화에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
충북도 관계자는 “글로벌 기술패권 경쟁에서의 우위 확보를 위해 다양한 이차전지 연구주체 간 공동?융합 연구 생태계 조성(k-배터리 연구혁신센터) 및 연구 컨트롤 타워 역할을 담당할 정부 주도의 ‘글로벌 이차전지 연구개발(R&D) 선도 플랫폼 구축’이 필요하다”며 “현재 이와 관련된 기본계획 수립 및 타당성 조사 연구용역을 수행 중에 있으며 금년부터 전문 인력(재직자, 석·박사급, 재사용.재활용 기술개발 인력) 양성에도 심혈을 기울여 명실상부 우리나라를 대표하는 글로벌 이차전지 클러스터로 성장할 수 있도록 노력을 기울겠다.”라고 말했다.
