‘Squid Game’ craze, until when?

It is said that Netflix's number one position usually changes to another drama after a week or two. What makes it different from other death games, so that the 'squid game' craze still continues? The drama itself functions like a stage as a microcosm by collecting various

human figures. In the hierarchy of people who play games and managers, VIPs who watch games, and Grandpa Oil Nam who made the game, there is a police officer who watches

the society. Like the song 'Thorn Bird', there are too many characters and situations in me to identify with.

While watching the drama, the question, “What can I do to make money?” also creeps up. I feel bad. This drama makes you see things that are uncomfortable and avoided. The game played as a child touches the elaborate composition, aesthetics of the set, and the

fundamental nostalgia, enticing you to watch it to the end. it's silly

When I stand in front of death, I meet my true self

The characters in 'Squid Game' have the common man's aspiration to live happily with his mother, younger brother, and children. So ‘I’ is a powerful ‘world-in-being-being’. Death here is more sad and fierce because it is death for the sake of life. On the other hand, other death game movies are mere excretion because they only pursue exhilarating stimulation.

Heidegger, a German philosopher of the 20th century, viewed human beings as beings of

'relationships', 'being-in-the-world', unlike existing philosophies. Relationships with other beings inevitably give us anxiety and fear of nothingness that comes from the weakness of

the relationship, and in the end, we face death. Establishing an honest relationship is a

beautiful way to “overcome” these difficulties, and it means not to live vaguely.

Ji-young makes the decision to die by herself in order to keep Dawn-i's relationship with

her younger brother in a marble game. By choosing death, Jiyoung was able to find theoriginal self, free from the non-original me who lived without any responsibility. Regarding the individualism of modern people who try to block the discomfort and anxiety caused by

relationships, 'Squid Game' asks, "How beautiful is the world in which you live alone."

The spirit of Hongik Ingan needed in the age of relational networks

There is no greed for possession, no rebellion in nature that creates a death game and

bursts repressed anger because there is a lot of money but it is not fun. Old man oil man

making fun of death, sharing a gamer recruitment book who appeared in a minor role, Lee

Byung-hun, who returned to play the frontman after winning the prize money, together with Lee

Jung-jae as Ki-hyeon, who will return to play the 'squid game' in the sequel, emotions and beliefs related to money systems will be exposed. I think the most important story will be

dealt with in the sequel.

The question posed by Kihyun while living on the bottom with the prize money intact! The

sequel is likely to respond with active resistance rather than cynical rebellion of Grandpa

Oil Nam. Then, the violence of 'Squid Game', which has been criticized for being too cruel, will be evaluated as a device to ask the original question of how to live. Conscience works

when you become aware of the finiteness of being sandwiched between birth and death.

When the conscience is activated, everyone will be conscious of the present moment and will ‘live’ an independent and positive life as ‘being-in-the-world’.

'Squid Game' is a film that asks the question 'how to live' with death. Furthermore, by

asking about the relationship between people through games that are familiar to Koreans,

the spirit of Hongik Ingan to live for the benefit of others is revealed by itself. In the

complex and complex 21st century, the network of relationships between people has

become more and more dense, so it is necessary to think more about relationships. Asking such a fundamental question about life would have caused a 'squid game' craze around

the world. We hope that the squid game sequel will help create a new paradigm of life

needed in the 21st century.
