Inkushi's Monstrous 48-Point Performance in College Volleyball... Growing Further After Appearing on 'Rookie Coach Kim Yeon-koung 2'
- Reporter Park Jin-cheol
It was a match defined by an "extreme reliance" on a single attacker. Every set went to Inkushi, who unleashed a relentless barrage of attacks from both the front and back rows without a moment's rest.
Inkushi (21, 180cm) has shown continuous improvement in her performance. She previously contributed significantly to the popularity of women's volleyball in Korea after appearing on the MBC variety show *Rookie Coach Kim Yeon-koung* and being recruited as an "Asian Quarter" player for the V-League professional team, JungKwanJang.
Inkushi is currently a sophomore at Mokpo Science College. She continues her volleyball career while attending a Korean university as she prepares for naturalization in Korea.
On the 12th, during the semifinal playoff match of the '2026 KUSF (Korea University Sport Federation) Women's College Volleyball U-League' between Mokpo Science College and Woosuk University—held at the Gyeongil University gymnasium—Inkushi displayed a monstrous performance by scoring 48 points on her own.
Although Mokpo Science College ultimately lost to Woosuk University 2-3 (19-25, 17-25, 27-25, 25-11, 12-15) in a grueling five-set match, Inkushi's performance was unrivaled.
The second-highest scorer for Mokpo Science College was Sama (20, 170cm), who recorded 12 points. Sama, a native of Mongolia, is Inkushi's close friend; the two came to Korea together to study volleyball, graduated from Mokpo Girls' Commercial High School, and are currently attending Mokpo Science College. The other players managed only 2 to 4 points each.
For Woosuk University, Ahn Su-in (172cm) scored 22 points, Yeo Ju-hee (175cm) scored 21 points, and Shin Yeon-woo (178cm) scored 20 points. With all starters contributing evenly, the team advanced to the finals. The championship match between Woosuk University and Gwangju Women's University is scheduled for the 17th.
Woosuk University and Gwangju Women's University are the top teams in women's collegiate volleyball this season. Woosuk University previously defeated Gwangju Women's University in the final of the "2026 Korean Air Cup National Collegiate Volleyball Danyang Tournament" held last August.
A roster of "only 6 players" and a height disadvantage... An even more extreme reliance on one player than GS Caltex's Silva

In contrast, while Inkushi was sidelined for injury recovery and rehabilitation, Mokpo Science University suffered 0-3 shutout losses against strong teams such as Woosuk University, Gwangju Women's University, and Kyungil University.
This was inevitable. Mokpo Science University currently has a total roster of only seven players. Furthermore, in the match against Woosuk University on the 12th, even Lee Ju-hee (167cm)—who had been playing as a starting outside hitter—was unable to compete due to work commitments at her new job.
All six players on the team had to play the entire match without any substitutions. If even a single player were unable to play due to injury, the team would have been forced to forfeit the match due to a lack of players. Moreover, since the team has two setters, one of them plays the "opposite" position—typically reserved for a primary attacker—creating a comical situation where she plays defense but contributes nothing to the offense. They are also at a significant height disadvantage; aside from Inkushi, all five other players stand between just 166 and 170 cm tall.
Ultimately, Inkushi was practically the only player capable of scoring through attacks. Consequently, Mokpo Science University funneled all their sets to her, regardless of whether she was in the front or back row. Inkushi unleashed a relentless barrage of attacks throughout all five sets without a moment's rest.
It was an even more extreme version of "heavy-load offense" (relying almost exclusively on one attacker) than that seen with Silva (35, 191 cm), the foreign player for the V-League women's champion GS Caltex last season. Yet, Inkushi gave her all until the very end, never once showing dissatisfaction or uttering a complaint. She demonstrated growth in both her athletic skills and her mental resilience.
'Rookie Coach Kim Yeon-koung 2': Facing Disbandment If an 8th Professional Team Isn't Founded

Meanwhile, this match drew attention as it was Inkushi's first game since filming wrapped for *Rookie Coach Kim Yeon-koung* Season 2. Filming for the season concluded on August 27 with a live match between Wonder Dogs and SOOP, held at Seoul's Jangchung Arena.
On the 14th, MBC released the main trailer for Season 2 via the YouTube channel *Wonder Dogs Locker Room*. The video also briefly features Inkushi in action.
A look at the trailer reveals that the V-League professional teams facing Wonder Dogs—such as Heungkuk Life, Hyundai E&C, and SOOP—were vastly different from those in Season 1; they fielded their full starting lineups of top-tier domestic players. Notably, Hoa Chat Duc Giang, the powerhouse of the Vietnamese professional league, deployed a complete first-string squad that included players with experience on the Vietnamese national team.
Amidst these challenging circumstances, MBC issued an ultimatum: if no corporate owner steps forward to establish a professional V-League club based on the Wonder Dogs, the team will be disbanded, and there will be no Season 3.
Naturally, this high-stakes scenario has drawn the keen interest of both general viewers and volleyball fans alike. Season 2 is set to premiere on Sunday, October 11, at 9:10 PM.
