Yeosun-Suncheon 10·19 Trauma Healing Center Operates ‘Visiting Healing Program’ for Bereaved Families in Gurye

On-site customized program to overcome geographical accessibility limitations… Planned for expansion to eastern Jeonnam region including Suncheon and Yeosu

(Break News Jeonnam Gwangju) Reporter Lee Hak-su = The Yeosun-Suncheon 10·19 Trauma Healing Center is operating a ‘Visiting Healing Program’ to help bereaved families in the Gurye region, who are suffering from psychological and physical difficulties, achieve emotional stability and recover healthy daily lives.

This visiting healing program was established in consideration of accessibility issues, such as the difficulty elderly bereaved families face in visiting the center in person. The program is conducted by the center visiting the site directly, helping elderly bereaved families experience healing and recovery more comfortably.

The program will be held a total of four times, every Wednesday until the 16th, at the Gurye Culture and Arts Center. A diverse and enriching program, including mental healing, aromatherapy, and horticultural therapy, will be provided to a total of 60 bereaved family members.

In addition, the Center is running separate customized programs for bereaved families who are able to visit in person throughout the month of September, including origami, music, picture book well-dying, and outdoor healing, to provide time for rest and healing amidst their exhausting daily lives.

Park Bo-seo, Director of the Yeosu-Suncheon 10·19 Trauma Healing Center, stated, “Starting with the Gurye region, we will prepare programs that include bereaved family associations from other cities and counties, including Suncheon and Yeosu,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that more bereaved families can receive healing services close to home.”

The Center plans to continue actively reflecting the diverse needs of bereaved families by closely linking and expanding in-center programs with outreach healing services, and will continue to provide support to ensure they can participate in healing activities on an ongoing basis.
