[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 산청군 산청읍 산청리·옥산리·지리 일대 상습 침수지역에 369억원이 투입돼 배수시설 등을 종합 정비한다.
산청군은 행정안전부가 주관한 ‘2027년 풍수해 생활권 종합정비사업’ 공모에서 산청지구가 최종 사업 대상지로 선정됐다고 8일 밝혔다.
풍수해 생활권 종합정비사업은 집중호우 등 자연재해 위험이 높은 지역을 대상으로 배수시설과 재난 대응시설 등을 종합적으로 정비하는 국가 지원사업이다. 산청군은 국비와 지방비를 포함해 총 369억원의 사업비를 확보했다.
산청지구는 집중호우 때 배수관로의 통수능력 부족으로 역류가 발생하면서 산청시장 주변 상가와 주거지역 등에 침수 피해가 반복돼 온 곳이다. 특히 지난해 7월 극한호우 당시에도 침수 위험이 커지면서 주민들의 근본적인 대책 요구가 이어졌다.
산청군은 이번 사업을 통해 배수펌프장 1개소를 신설하고 배수관로를 확장·신설한다. 정비 대상 관로는 총 2.3㎞이며 재난 예·경보시설도 설치할 예정이다.
군은 내년 실시설계용역에 착수해 관련 행정절차를 진행한 뒤 2030년까지 사업을 완료할 계획이다. 사업이 마무리되면 산청읍 일대의 배수능력을 높여 집중호우에 따른 침수 위험을 줄이는 효과가 기대된다.
산청군은 앞서 지난해 5월 산청지구를 자연재해위험 개선지구로 지정하고 사업 추진을 준비해왔다. 올해 2월 행안부에 공모를 신청했으며 경남도와 행안부 심사를 거쳐 최종 대상지로 선정됐다.
유명현 산청군수는 “사업을 차질 없이 추진해 반복되는 침수 피해로부터 주민의 생명과 재산을 보호할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
