[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시가 한국AI·로봇산업협회와 지역 제조기업의 인공지능(AI)·로봇 전환과 로봇기업 육성을 위한 협력 방안을 논의했다.
김해시는 7일 시청 접견실에서 정영두 시장과 배석태 한국AI·로봇산업협회 상근부회장, 협회 및 경남로봇랜드재단 관계자 등이 참석한 가운데 AI·로봇산업 발전을 위한 면담을 가졌다.
이 자리에서 김해시는 현재 추진 중인 공정 자동화와 로봇산업 기반 구축사업을 소개하고, 지역 제조기업의 AI·로봇 전환과 로봇기업 육성을 위한 협력 방안을 협회 측과 논의했다.
김해시는 제조업 중심의 산업구조를 기반으로 로봇산업 관련 인프라 구축에도 나서고 있다. 뿌리산업 현장의 로봇 공정 도입을 비롯해 중고로봇 리퍼브·재제조, 물류 서비스로봇 실증·표준화, 10t 이상 중량물을 운반하는 자율이동체(AMR)의 시험·평가 체계 등을 추진하고 있다.
시는 이 같은 인프라와 협회의 기업 네트워크를 연계해 지역 로봇기업의 기술 실증과 표준화, 공동 프로젝트 발굴 등으로 협력 범위를 넓힐 계획이다.
한국AI·로봇산업협회는 로봇산업 정책연구와 기업 지원, 표준화, 인력양성, 국제협력 등을 추진하는 산업계 단체다. 김해시는 협회 회원사와 지역 기업 간 기술협력 및 사업화 기회를 확대해 제조업의 AI·로봇 전환을 지원한다는 방침이다.
정영두 시장은 “협회의 기업 네트워크와 지역 제조기업, 기술·실증 인프라를 연결해 실질적인 협력 성과로 이어지길 바란다”고 말했다.
배석태 상근부회장은 “김해시가 구축한 로봇산업 인프라와 협회의 기업 네트워크를 연계해 성과를 만들 수 있도록 협력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
