조 의장은 이 자리에서 "먼 의장님의 국회의장 연임을 축하드리며, 대한민국 국회를 대표해 방한을 환영한다"라며 "취임 후 첫 번째로 맞이하는 외빈이 먼 의장님이어서 더욱 각별하다"고 말했다.
이어 "작년에 대한민국의 전임 국회의장이 베트남을 방문한 데 이어 1년 사이 양국 국회의장이 상호 방문한 것은 한국과 베트남의 특별한 우정을 보여주는 증거"라고 말했다.
