What is Politics? It is the process of pursuing the public good!

The saying that a crisis is an opportunity is only half the truth. When faced with a crisis, most people become discouraged. This is because a crisis is not something to be taken lightly. However, a very small minority manages to renew their resolve in a crisis situation, overcome it, recover, and sometimes achieve great success. The saying that a crisis is an opportunity applies to this latter tiny minority. Because the probability is low, it is a saying that is all the more valuable.
The government's state administration is entering a phase that is a pre-crisis stage. I used the term "pre-crisis stage" because while it does not mean it is a crisis phase yet, it implies that the situation is heading in that direction and that there is a possibility of a turnaround. The first sign is that controversy and criticism are being raised regarding every issue the government handles, and the second sign is the approval rating hovering in the high 30% range. The third sign is that the KOSPI and mega-projects, on which the government places particular emphasis, have also become subjects of controversy, and the fourth is the inability to find a way out of the real estate crisis. However, a more significant sign than all of this is that the government's policies are not moving in tandem with the people.
I understand that there is general agreement on the fact that the government is working hard. However, the problem is that this work has become the government's business rather than the people's. When this happens, the people are alienated, the support base weakens, momentum is lost, and there is no support during difficult times. This is not a matter of policy, but a matter of strategy and the fundamentals of state administration. I do not know who is taking care of this.
The Kim Dae-jung administration was the Government of the People, and the Roh Moo-hyun administration was the Participatory Government. Only now do the true meanings of these terms become very clear. The Lee Jae-myung administration is a Government of Popular Sovereignty, but it is time to reflect on where popular sovereignty lies and how it is functioning.
The people believe that they united their strength to establish the government, but it is necessary to overhaul the system to prevent a situation where they think, "That government, established in this way, abandoned the people and just kept going on its own."
