브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= SK그룹이 최근 집중호우로 큰 피해를 본 거제와 통영 등 남부 수해 지역 주민들의 조속한 일상 복귀를 위해 지원에 나섰다.
SK그룹은 28일 사회복지공동모금회를 통해 수해 복구 및 이재민 구호 성금 20억 원을 기탁한다고 밝혔다. 이번 성금은 특별재난지역으로 선포된 남부 수해 지역의 신속한 시설 복구와 실의에 빠진 이재민들을 위한 생필품 지원 등에 쓰일 예정이다.
성금 기탁 외에도 SK그룹 주요 계열사들은 실질적인 구호 활동을 펼치고 있다.
SK하이닉스는 재해 발생 시 이재민 구호를 위해 매년 운영 중인 ‘하이세이프티(High Safety)’ 사업을 통해 지난 26일 거제 등 호우 피해 지역에 자원봉사자키트 630개를 긴급 지원했다.
SK텔레콤은 지난 18일부터 이재민 임시 주거시설이 마련된 거제 옥포초등학교와 옥포종합사회복지관 등 2개소에 스마트폰 충전 부스와 보조배터리를 설치했다. 타올과 물티슈 등 실생활에 꼭 필요한 구호 물품도 함께 전달하며 이재민들의 불편을 최소화하고 있다.
SK브로드밴드는 임시 주거시설에 머무는 이재민들이 외부 소통과 정보 취득에 어려움이 없도록, 지난 18일부터 옥포초등학교에 와이파이 및 IPTV 서비스를 무상 설치·제공하며 통신 편의를 돕고 있다.
SK그룹 관계자는 “갑작스러운 집중호우로 인해 많은 국민들이 어려움을 겪고 있는 만큼, 피해 지역 주민들이 조속히 일상으로 복귀할 수 있도록 지원하겠다”며 “SK그룹은 성금 기부 외에도 다양한 피해복구 지원 활동에 적극 나설 방침이다”고 말했다.
