이날 집회 연설에 나선 이주연 시민연대 공동집행위원장은 투쟁의 당위성을 미래 세대의 민주주의와 연결 지었다. 이 위원장은 “3·1 독립선언의 정신이 오늘날 우리가 누리는 민주주의의 초석이 되었듯, 오늘 우리의 부정경선 규탄은 우리 아이들이 미래의 대한민국을 살아가는 데 굳건한 초석이 될 것”이라고 목소리를 높였다.
