(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전라남도의회가 정책지원관 제도 도입 등 확대된 의정 활동을 뒷받침할 새로운 의정지원 공간을 마련하고 본격적인 운영에 돌입했다.
전남도의회는 지난 12일 의회 청사 부지 내에서 ‘전남도의회 사무동 증축공사 준공식’을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 준공식에는 김태균 의장을 비롯한 도의원들과 황기연 전남도 행정부지사, 김대중 전남도교육감, 집행부 공무원, 공사 관계자 등 100여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.(사진) 참석자들은 신청사 준공을 축하하는 한편, 향후 의정지원체계 강화와 의회 발전 방향을 공유하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.
이번 사무동 증축은 김태균 의장이 정책지원관 제도 도입과 의정활동 지원 기능 확대에 따른 고질적인 사무공간 부족 문제를 해소하기 위해 적극적으로 추진한 결과물이다. 전남도 역시 안정적인 의정지원체계 구축의 필요성에 깊이 공감하고 사업 추진에 필요한 예산을 전폭적으로 지원하면서 이번 결실을 맺게 됐다.
새롭게 선보인 사무동은 총사업비 84억 원이 투입되어 연면적 1,527㎡ 규모의 지상 3층 건물로 조성됐다.
1층은 필로티 구조를 적용해 대형 버스 3대를 포함한 총 9면의 주차공간을 확보, 청사 내 주차 난 해소에 기여할 것으로 보인다.
3층은 기존 청사와 바로 연결되는 이동 복도를 설치해 직원들과 방문객들의 공간 활용성과 접근성을 극대화했다.
김태균 의장은 기념사를 통해 “올해 행정통합이라는 거대한 변곡점을 맞이하는 시점에서 이번에 증축된 사무동 청사의 의미와 기능, 그리고 활용성에 대한 기대가 매우 크다”며 소회를 밝혔다.
이어 김 의장은 “이번 사무동 준공을 계기로 의원들의 의정활동을 더욱 체계적으로 지원할 수 있게 됐다”면서 “전문성과 효율성을 두루 갖춘 의정지원체계를 공고히 하여, 도민들에게 한층 수준 높고 청렴한 의정서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
