Rep. Hwang Myung-sun: "Secured 525 Million Won in Special Grants from Ministry of Education"

Green Light for Renovation of Aging Facilities at Nonsan Girls' Middle School, Dosan Elementary School, and Eomsa Elementary School… Creating a Safe Learning Environment

Aging school facilities in the Nonsan and Gyeryong regions of South Chungcheong Province are set to undergo a major renovation following the securing of government funding. With the rainy season approaching, the safety index of educational sites, which have been suffering from issues such as leaks and exterior wall cracks, is expected to improve significantly.

Rep. Hwang Myung-sun of the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Nonsan, Gyeryong, and Geumsan in South Chungcheong Province) announced on the 12th that he has secured a total of 525 million won in special grants from the Ministry of Education to improve the local educational environment.

The funds secured will be concentrated on renovating aging facilities and creating a safe learning environment at schools in Nonsan and Gyeryong that required urgent repairs.

Looking at the detailed breakdown by region, a total of 385 million won has been allocated to Nonsan City. The 'Rooftop Waterproofing Project at Nonsan Girls' Middle School (160 million won),' which had been suffering from chronic leakage issues, and the 'Exterior Wall Repair Project at Dosan Elementary School (225 million won),' which had been threatening the building's safety, have been approved. It appears that the homes of students and faculty, who have previously faced concerns regarding the infringement of their right to learn and safety accidents due to aging facilities, will become much cleaner and more pristine.

140 million won has been allocated to Gyeryong City for the 'Rooftop Waterproofing Project at Eomsa Elementary School.' With this budget allocation, Eomsa Elementary School will be able to completely resolve its chronic rooftop leakage problems and return a much more pleasant educational space to the students.

Councilor Hwang Myeong-seon stated that schools must be safer and more pleasant than any other space, expressing his hope that securing this special grant will alleviate some of the concerns of parents and serve as a foundation for children to focus on their studies with peace of mind. Representative Hwang went on to emphasize that he would continue to carefully listen to the voices from the educational field in the Nonsan, Gyeryong, and Geumsan regions, and do his utmost to secure state budget funds to improve children's educational welfare and build a robust educational infrastructure.
