6.3지방선거가 사실상 끝났다. 서울시장선거에서 오세훈 서울시장 후보가 기적 같은 역전승을 했다. 이재명 정권의 폭압 속에서 치러진 이번 선거의 의미는 자못 의미심장하다.
첫째, 이재명 정권에 대한 심판에 불이 붙었다. 이재명은 완승을 노렸지만 실패했다. 보수의 심장 대구를 점령하지 옷했다. 수도 서울에서 압도하려 했지만, 분노한 민심의 역풍을 맞았다. 특히 청년들이 이재명에 등을 돌렸다.
나는 심판의 불길이 활활 타오르기 바랐으나 그래도 의미있는 저항을 보았다. 적어도 심판은 이제 시작된 것이다. 머지않아 이재명은 불같은 국민의 심판대 위에 설 것이다.
둘째, 국민의힘은 깨어진 그릇처럼 민심을 담는데 실패했다. 부산 보궐선거에서 국힘후보가 얻은 초라한 득표를 보라. 또 울산시장선거에서 정상적 경선을 하여 분열을 막았다면 승리했을 것이다. 경기지사 거도 김문수나 유승민 같은 비중 는 후보가 나왔다면 서울처럼 역전승도 가능했을 것이다.
