광주소방본부, '부처님 오신 날' 대비 전통사찰 화재 예방 점검

광주소방안전본부는 지난 20일 북구 소재 전통사찰인 원효사를 방문해 화재 예방을 위한 현장 지도·점검을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 부처님 오신 날을 전후로 연등 설치와 봉축 행사 등 사찰 내 화기 사용이 급증하고, 많은 시민이 방문할 것으로 예상됨에 따라 대형 화재 및 인명 피해를 사전에 차단하기 위해 마련됐다.

전통사찰은 대부분 목조 건축물로 이루어져 있어 화재 발생 시 연소 속도가 매우 빠르고, 인근 산림으로 확대될 위험이 커 철저한 사전 대비가 필수적이다.
