이번에 출범한 시민특보단은 기존의 시민·여성·청년 특보단을 하나로 통합한 참여형 조직이다. 이들은 향후 생활 현장에서 직접 투표 참여를 독려하고 지역사회 여론을 수렴하는 ‘시민 중심의 참여형 선거 플랫폼’ 역할을 수행하게 된다.
이날 발대식에 참석한 단원들은 “전남·광주 통합특별시 출범 이후 처음으로 치러지는 역사적인 선거인 만큼, 압도적인 투표율과 득표율로 시민의 위대한 힘을 보여줘야 한다”고 한목소리를 냈다.
