국민의힘 서천 필승결의대회 개최, 당 지도부·지역 후보 전원 ‘원팀’ 결속
김기웅 후보 “현장 중심 민생 군수 될 것”…보수 세력 총결집 판세 반전 시동
국민의힘 김기웅 서천군수 후보가 여당 지도부의 전폭적인 지원을 발판 삼아 선거 판세를 주도하기 위한 가파른 세 몰이에 나섰다.
장동혁 국민의힘 대표가 직접 서천 현장을 찾아 전방위적인 지원을 약속하면서 서천 지역 보수 진영의 조직적 결집에 불이 붙는 모양새다.
김 후보는 군수 후보를 넘어 광역·기초의원 후보 전원을 아우르는 강력한 ‘원팀 전선’을 전면에 배치하며 지방선거 압승을 향한 결연한 의지를 천명했다.
국민의힘 서천군수선거 김기웅 선거대책위원회는 16일 오후 2시 서천읍 서문로 정당선거사무소에서 ‘제9회 전국동시지방선거 국민의힘 필승 선대위 결의대회’를 성황리에 개최했다.
이날 현장에는 장 대표와 김 후보를 비롯해 광역·기초의원 출마자, 핵심 당직자와 당원 등 200여 명이 대거 집결해 뜨거운 열기 속에 필승의 결의를 다졌다. 여당은 이번 대회를 기점으로 지역 조직을 총력 선거 체제로 전격 전환했다.
격려사에 나선 장동혁 대표는 강력한 중앙당 지원론을 앞세워 표심을 파고들었다.
장 대표는 보령·서천에서 정치 경력이 짧았던 저를 믿고 선택해 주셨듯, 이번 선거에서도 국민의힘 후보들에게 압도적인 힘을 모아달라고 호소했다.
이어 중앙정치의 모든 역량을 아낌없이 투입해 서천과 보령의 비약적인 발전을 완수하겠다고 공언했다.
김기웅 후보 역시 서천의 미래 비전을 제시하며 자신감을 피력했다. 김 후보는 군민의 실질적인 삶을 바꾸는 발로 뛰는 ‘민생 군수’가 되겠다며, 행정의 답은 언제나 현장에 있다는 신념으로 서천의 도약을 반드시 이뤄내겠다고 강조했다.

한편, 이날 선대위는 김태원·상복자·나조열·한상준 공동선거대책본부장 체제를 공식 출범시켰다.
