(강진=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=더불어민주당의 공천 결과에 반발하는 호남 지역 시민사회단체와 당원들이 대규모 연합 집회를 열고 당 지도부를 정면으로 비판하고 나섰다.
‘국민주권사수 광주전남 민주시민연대(이하 시민연대)’는 12일 오후 4시, 민주당 전남·광주·전북 공천자대회가 열린 강진군 군동면 강진제2실내체육관 앞에서 ‘투쟁 23일차’ 집회를 개최했다. 이날 현장에는 전남 강진, 완도, 진도, 신안 등지의 민주당원들과 전북 지역의 ‘정청래 사당화 저지 범도민 대책위’ 등 약 300여 명이 집결해 목소리를 높였다.
시민연대 김범태 대표는 여는 말을 통해 “5·18을 앞두고 민주주의를 짓밟는 행태가 민주당 정청래 대표에 의해 자행되고 있다”며 “불공정 경선은 주권이 강탈된 상황과 다름없다”고 주장했다. 이어 “호남에서 정 대표가 보여준 공천은 민주주의와 거리가 멀며, 평생 민주당을 지켜온 당원들에게 씻을 수 없는 자괴감을 안겼다”고 강하게 질타했다.

앞서 시민연대는 이날 오전 10시에도 민주당 광주시당 앞에서 23일차 집회를 열고 투쟁 의지를 다졌다. 이주연 위원장은 “경선이 곧 본선인 호남에서 공정한 절차는 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “무원칙한 공천으로 시민 주권을 짓밟은 오만과 독선을 호남인은 절대 용납하지 않을 것”이라고 밝혔다.
