경주시는 오는 18일부터 예산 소진 시까지 ‘2026년 상반기 전기자동차 추가 보급사업’을 추진한다고 12일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 최근 국제 유가 상승과 친환경 교통수단 전환 수요 증가에 대응하고, 탄소중립 실현과 대기환경 개선을 위해 마련됐다.
추가 지원 물량은 승용 전기차 250대와 화물 전기차 50대 등 총 300대다. 경주시는 기후에너지환경부 추가경정예산 편성에 따라 전기자동차 구매보조금 국비 22억원을 확보하면서 이번 추가 지원을 추진하게 됐다.
지원 대상은 전기자동차를 신규 구매해 경주시에 사용본거지로 등록하려는 개인과 법인이다. 개인의 경우 신청일 기준 90일 이전부터 경주시에 주소를 두고 있어야 한다.
신청은 무공해차 구매보조금 지원시스템을 통해 가능하며, 자동차 제조·판매사가 신청 절차를 대행한다.
보조금은 차종과 성능에 따라 차등 지급된다. 승용 전기차는 최대 1,415만원, 화물 전기차는 최대 2,377만원까지 지원받을 수 있다.
지원 대상자는 차량 출고 및 등록 순으로 선정되며, 예산이 모두 소진될 경우 사업은 조기 마감된다.
최혁준 경주시장 권한대행은 “전기자동차 보급 확대는 탄소중립 실현과 대기환경 개선을 위한 중요한 정책”이라며 “시민들의 친환경차 구매 부담을 줄이고 녹색 교통환경 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 경주시는 2024년 전기자동차 540대에 87억9,600만원, 2025년에는 970대에 151억7,800만원의 구매보조금을 지원하는 등 친환경차 보급 확대에 속도를 내고 있다.

Applications can be submitted through the Zero-Emission Vehicle Purchase Subsidy Support System, and automobile manufacturers and dealers handle the application process on behalf of the applicant.
Subsidies are provided on a differential basis depending on the vehicle model and performance. Up to 14.15 million won can be received for passenger electric vehicles, and up to 23.77 million won for cargo electric vehicles.
Eligible recipients are selected in the order of vehicle delivery and registration, and the program will close early if the budget is exhausted.
Choi Hyeok-jun, Acting Mayor of Gyeongju, stated, "Expanding the supply of electric vehicles is an important policy for realizing carbon neutrality and improving the air environment," adding, "We will do our best to reduce the burden of purchasing eco-friendly vehicles for citizens and create a green transportation environment."
Meanwhile, Gyeongju City is accelerating the expansion of eco-friendly vehicle supply, providing purchase subsidies of 8.796 billion won for 540 electric vehicles in 2024 and 15.178 billion won for 970 vehicles in 2025.
