현대카드가 글로벌 팝스타 위켄드를 앞세워 ‘슈퍼콘서트’ 시리즈를 3년 만에 재개한다.
현대카드는 오는 10월 7일과 8일 양일간 오후 7시 45분 고양종합운동장에서 ‘현대카드 슈퍼콘서트 28 위켄드(The Weeknd)’를 개최한다고 11일 밝혔다.
이번 공연은 2017년 콜드플레이, 2023년 브루노 마스 공연에 이어 슈퍼콘서트 역사상 세 번째로 열리는 10만명 규모의 초대형 공연이다.
위켄드는 알앤비(R&B)에 힙합과 일렉트로닉 요소를 결합한 ‘얼터너티브 R&B’ 장르를 대중화한 아티스트로 평가받는다. 2023년에는 음원 플랫폼 스포티파이에서 월간 청취자 수 1억명을 처음 돌파했으며, 대표곡 Blinding Lights는 스포티파이 역사상 최초로 50억 스트리밍을 기록해 기네스북에 이름을 올렸다.
