(재)영산조용기자선재단(이사장 윤홍열·김기돈)은 지난달 29일 서귀포시청에서 장례 지원 및 노숙인 생활안정을 위한 지원금 총 1억 원을 전달했다고 4일 밝혔다.
이날 전달식에는 영산조용기자선재단 윤홍열 이사장과 오순문 서귀포시장, 강현수 위생복지국장, 서귀포시사랑원 백진주 원장 등이 참석했다.
이번 지원 사업은 구체적으로 ▲노숙인 생활안정 지원(6,000만 원) ▲취약계층 장례비 지원(4,000만 원)으로 나뉘어 집행된다.
먼저 노숙인 생활안정 지원사업은 서귀포시 사랑원과 협력해 시설 내 노숙인들의 인지·정서·직무 재활 프로그램을 운영하고, 노후된 생활환경을 개선하는 데 사용된다.
장례비 지원사업은 서귀포시에 주소를 둔 기초생활수급자 및 차상위계층을 대상으로 한다. 1인당 최대 100만 원 한도 내에서 실질적인 장례 비용을 지원하며, 중문장의사와 협업을 통해 전문적인 장례 서비스를 제공할 계획이다.
영산조용기자선재단 관계자는 “장례와 생활안정은 인간으로서 누려야 할 가장 기본적이고 필수적인 영역”이라며 “이번 지원이 서귀포시 내 어려운 이웃들의 삶에 실질적인 보탬이 되고, 자립의 희망을 품는 계기가 되기를 바란다”고 전했다.
