이날 협약식에는 최정애 영천시장 권한대행과 정혜순 대표이사 등 관계자들이 참석해 성공적인 사업 추진을 위한 상호 협력을 약속했다.
협약에 따라 정우하이텍은 영천금호일반산업단지 내 1만6,528㎡(약 5,000평) 부지에 생산시설을 확충하고, 시트프레임과 카울크로스바 등 자동차 핵심 부품 생산라인을 확대할 계획이다. 이번 투자로 약 50명의 신규 일자리 창출이 기대된다.
정우하이텍은 자동차 핵심 부품을 공급하는 기업으로, 자체 특허기술을 기반으로 생산 효율성과 품질 안정성을 확보하며 글로벌 경쟁력을 인정받고 있다. 이번 투자 확대는 지역 자동차부품 산업의 경쟁력 강화는 물론, 지역경제 활성화에도 긍정적인 파급효과를 가져올 것으로 전망된다.
시 관계자는 “이번 협약이 영천이 자동차부품 산업 중심지로 도약하는 계기가 될 것”이라며 “기업이 안정적으로 정착하고 성장할 수 있도록 행정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
한편 영천시는 앞으로도 적극적인 기업 유치를 통해 지역 산업 기반을 강화하고 지속 가능한 경제 성장 동력을 확보해 나갈 방침이다.
