오는 6월 11일(현지 기준) 개막해 1개월 넘게 진행되는 ‘2026 FIFA 북중미 월드컵’은 사상 처음으로 104개 경기가 진행된다. 캐나다·미국·멕시코 3국에서 공동 개최하는 것도 월드컵 역사 상 최초다.

앞서 JTBC는 지상파 방송 3사(KBS·MBC·SBS)와 중계권 재판매 협상을 벌여왔다. 3사에 같은 조건을 제시해 지난 21일까지 답신을 받은 결과, MBC·SBS와는 합의를 이루지 못했고, KBS와 공동중계를 확정했다.
이로써 오는 6월 개최되는 ‘2026 FIFA 북중미 월드컵’은 JTBC와 KBS에서 시청할 수 있게 됐다.
