한국이 한창 중동에 진출할 때 이란에서 공사를 많이 하고 사우디에 이어 원유수입 2위국이었다. 이란-이라크전이 험악할 때도 한국 건설업체들은 끝까지 남아 "의리를 중시하는 코리아"라는 인심도 두텁게 쌓은 곳이 이란이다. 그러나 미국이 이란의 원자폭탄 개발 의혹 때문에 제재를 가함에 따라 원유수입 중단에 이른 게 2018년이고 그 이후 관계가 뚝 끊겼다. 그러다가 매우 안 좋은 일이 문재인 정부시절 2020년에 발생했다. 당시 코로나가 창궐할 때 돈이 궁해진 이란은 한국에서 미국제재 때문에 찾지 못한 석유수출대금 약 70억 달러 가운데 돈을 좀 받아내려고 호르무즈 해협을 지나가는 '한국 케미'라는 유조선을 나포했다. 우리 정부가 '인질극'이라며 항의하자 이란 측은 "70억 달러를 인질로 잡고 있는 것은 한국"이라고 적반하장으로 나왔다. 외무부 대변인은 "미국과 한국은 주종관계"라는 모욕적인 말을 뱉었다. "만약 호르무즈에 한국이 파병한다면 단교 하겠다"는 더 험한 말을 그 이전에 내뱉은 적도 있었다.

이슬람교 최고지도자=알라신을 대행하는 동격이고, 그 밑에 혁명수비대가 총칼로 마음대로 하는 지구상 최고 독재체제라고 보면 될 것 같다. 북한 김정은 체제와 비슷하게 평생 독재체제다. 하메이니가 죽기 전 고물가와 경제난으로 군중데모가 일어나자 3만명 이상을 눈 하나 깜짝하지 않고 죽였다. 중국 천안문 사태 2,600여명. 한국의 광주사태 200여 명이 죽은 숫자에 비하면 현대 국가 중 이란보다 잔학한 나라는 결코 없다.

트럼프가 최후의 협상카드에 불응하면 모든 전력시설 교량을 폭파해버린다고 하니 페지스키안, 갈리바프가 뭐라고 했는가. 1,400명 이란인은 목숨을 걸고 함께 저항하기로 서명했다는 발표를 했다. 이란 체육부 차관이라는 자는 TV에 나와 청년, 어린이들이 나와서 다리, 전력시설에 인간방패로 서야한다고 선동질 했다.
한국의 역사도 일제 식민지 때 독립운동으로 저항하며 민족혼을 불사른 적이 있다. 그런데 이번 이란의 경우 미국의 요구는 핵개발을 중단해 달라는 것 한가지였다. 호르무즈 통행을 못하게 하니까 그것을 풀어주라는 것은 전쟁 후에 나온 요구사항이다. 핵확산 금지조약에 의해 유엔과 IAEA는 핵개발중단을 요구하는 것은 국제법상 당연하다.
핵개발(농축) 중단을 거부하고, 백성을 학살하고 그런 행위에 대해 시정하라는 국제사회의 요구에 대해 눈 하나 깜짝하지 않고 인간방패로 폭격을 받으라는 게 지금 이란 위정자들의 생얼굴이다.
이런 극악한 자들이 뭘 못 하겠는가. 이런 자들이 만약 핵을 개발하면 무슨 짓을 벌이겠는가. 이란이 미국에 제안한 10대항에는 핵개발포기 조항은 전혀 없다. 호르무즈통행세를 걷겠다는 조항이 포함되고 이란이 무기를 대며 중동을 불안하게 하는 불량 테러조직 레바논 헤즈볼라는 공격을 하지마라는 조항도 있다. 이란이 핵무기를 손에 넣으면 헤즈볼라, 하마스(가자지구), 후티반군, 시리아민명대 등에 전부 나눠줄 것이다. 이 전쟁이 일어난 핵심배경은 그것이다.
