(광주=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=광주광역시 보건환경연구원이 지역 내 사회복지시설을 대상으로 안전한 농산물을 무상으로 제공하며 온정 나눔을 이어가고 있다.
광주보건환경연구원은 올해 지역 사회복지시설 10개소를 선정해 1년 동안 안전성이 검증된 농산물을 무상으로 지원하고 있다고 14일 밝혔다.
이번 지원 대상은 5개 자치구의 추천을 받아 선정된 북구 ‘솔잎쉼터’를 포함한 총 10곳이다. 특히 연구원은 보다 많은 복지시설이 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 올해 4곳을 신규 시설로 선정해 지원의 폭을 넓혔다.
연구원이 제공하는 농산물은 철저한 검증 과정을 거친 ‘안심 먹거리’다. 연구원은 서부 및 각화 농수산물도매시장에서 경매 전후로 유통되는 농산물 2,800건에 대해 주·야간 상시 잔류농약 검사를 실시한다. 여기서 기준치에 적합한 것으로 판명된 농산물 약 2,750여 상자(4,000만 원 상당)를 복지시설에 전달할 계획이다.
