브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 2026 FIFA 북중미 월드컵 개막이 100일 앞으로 다가왔다.
이번 월드컵은 현지기준 오는 6월 11일부터 7월 19일까지 캐나다, 미국, 멕시코에서 공동 개최된다. 사상 최초의 2개국 공동 개최였던 한일 월드컵에 이어, 이번에는 사상 최초의 3개국 공동 개최 대회다.
이번 대회는 참가국이 기존 32개국에서 48개국으로 확대되면서 32강 토너먼트가 도입됐다. 4팀씩 12개 조로 조별리그를 치른 뒤 각 조 1, 2위와 조 3위 중 성적 상위 8개국이 32강에 진출한다.
