가평군은 지난 12일 설악중·고등학교 총동문회가 설악면 행정복지센터를 방문, 관내 취약계층을 위해 써달라며 성금 100만 원을 기탁했다고 밝혔다.
이번 성금 기탁뿐만 아니라, 총동문회는 그동안 ‘동문 재능 나눔 사업’을 통해 법률 및 행정 상담 등 전문 분야 봉사를 꾸준히 이어오고 있다. 또한, 모교 후배들과 지역 청소년들을 대상으로 직업 특강과 멘토링을 진행하는 등 지역사회와의 연대를 강화하며 모범적인 동문회 활동을 펼치고 있다.
이범주 총동문회장은 “작은 정성이지만 우리 이웃들이 따뜻한 명절을 보내는 데 보탬이 되기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 동문들의 힘을 모아 지역 발전을 위한 다양한 지원 활동을 지속해 나가겠다”고 전했다.
