브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 넥슨은 온라인 축구게임 ‘EA SPORTS FC™ Online’이 게임 최초로 ‘제 55회 전국소년체육대회’ 정식 종목으로 채택됐다고 13일 밝혔다.
‘전국소년체전’은 대한체육회가 주최하는 국내 최대 규모의 유소년 종합 체육대회로, 대한민국 스포츠의 미래를 이끌어갈 초·중학교 선수들이 참가해 경쟁하는 경연의 장이다.
55회째를 맞는 올해는 대회 역사상 최초로 e스포츠 종목이 신설됐다. 이번 대회는 올 3월부터 전국 17개 시·도에서 지역 대표 선발전을 치르며, 5월 23일부터 24일까지 부산에서 결선이 진행된다.
‘FC 온라인’은 이번 대회 e스포츠 종목으로 단독 채택됐으며, 다른 종목과 달리 12·15세 이하 연령을 통합해 단체전과 개인전으로 나눠 진행된다. 각 종목별로 금메달 1개, 은메달 1개, 동메달 2개가 수여된다. 3·4위전은 별도 진행되지 않으며 4강에서 탈락한 선수 또는 팀이 공동 3위에 오르는 방식으로 치러진다.
지역 대표 선발전은 개인전 방식으로 진행되는 가운데, 각 지역 상위 3명의 선수를 선발해 지역을 대표하는 단체전 팀을 결성하며, 선발된 3인은 각 지역 연합팀 형태로 구성된다.
부산에서 개최되는 전국 대회에서는 17개 시·도 대표팀이 참여하는 단체전(3인) 토너먼트와 각 시·도 대표팀 선수 3인이 전원 출전하는 개인전(1인)이 동시에 진행, 총 51명의 선수가 치열한 경쟁을 펼친다.
