[브레이크뉴스 양주=김완영 기자] 경기도 양주시가 오는 3월 13일까지 학력인정 문해교육인 ▲ 보담학교 초등 3단계(졸업과정)와 ▲ 보담학교 중학 1단계 과정의 수강생을 모집한다.
양주시에서는 정규 교육 기회를 놓친 저학력·비문해 성인에게 학력 취득의 기회를 제공하기 위해, 2018년 초등 학력인정 문해교육 지정기관 선정 이후 꾸준히 성인 학습자들의 문해교육에 힘써 왔다.
특히 올해는 초등 학력 인정 과정만 운영하던 기존과 달리, ‘중학 1단계’학력 인정 프로그램을 새롭게 지정 신청해 2025년 12월 31일 신규 운영기관으로 지정됐다. 이에 따라 보다 체계적인 학력 인정 문해교육을 제공할 수 있게 됐다.
또한 학력인정 문해교육 프로그램과 별도로 한글 학습을 희망하는 학습자를 위해 ‘한글교실’수강생도 상시 모집하고 있다.
2026년 양주시 한글교실은 ▲덕계 평생학습관 ▲회천 노인복지관 ▲옥정종합사회복지관 ▲봉암 복지회관 ▲양주1동 평생학습관 등 총 5개소에서 운영될 예정이다.
이 중 양주1동 평생학습관에서 진행될 한글교실은 행정복지센터 복합청사 이전 일정에 맞춰 개청 이후 2026년 5월부터 운영될 계획이다.
한편 양주시는 학력인정 과정을 이수한 학습자들을 격려하고자 졸업행사도 매번 진행하고 있다. 지난 2월 5일, 2025년 초등학력 문해교육 프로그램 이수자 11명을 대상으로 학력 인정서를 수여하는 졸업식이 열렸다.
이날 행사는 졸업생 대표의 소감 발표에 일부 동기들이 눈시울을 붉히는 등 배움의 결실을 함께 나누는 뜻깊은 시간이었다.
양주시 관계자는 “배움에는 늦은 때가 없는 만큼, 기초 문해교육이 필요한 시민이라면 주저하지 말고 성인 문해교실의 문을 두드려 주시길 바란다”고 말했다.
