블리자드 엔터테인먼트는 12일(한국시간) ‘디아블로’ 시리즈 30주년 기념 스포트라이트 방송을 통해 신규 DLC ‘디아블로2 레저렉션: 악마술사의 군림’을 공개했다.
여덟 번째 직업 ‘악마술사(Warlock)’는 금지된 악마의 힘을 사용하는 마법사 콘셉트의 캐릭터다.
세 종류의 악마를 소환해 고유 능력을 활용하거나, 악마를 흡수해 일시적으로 능력을 강화하는 등 새로운 전투 방식을 지녔다. 또 다양한 ‘혼돈 스킬’을 활용해 원거리 전투를 하거나 무기 소환을 통한 근접 전투도 가능하다.
‘악마술사의 군림’은 이날부터 즉시 플레이할 수 있으며 기존 ‘디아블로2 레저렉션’ 이용자는 해당 DLC를 별도로 구매해야 한다. 본편과 확장팩이 포함된 패키지인 ‘인페르노 에디션’를 구매해도 게임을 즐길 수 있다.
신규 직업 추가와 함께 편의성 업데이트도 진행됐다. 바닥에 떨어진 아이템을 설정에 따라 표시하거나 숨길 수 있는 아이템 필터 기능, 보석과 룬을 통합 보관할 수 있는 ‘고급 보관함 탭’ 등이 추가됐다.

‘증오의 군주’에는 고대 지중해를 모티브로 한 신규 지역 ‘스코보스’와 그리스풍 대도시 ‘테미스’가 등장한다. 스킬트리 시스템은 전면 개편돼 보다 복잡하고 정교해졌으며, ‘전쟁 계획’ 시스템을 통해 플레이어가 최대 다섯 개의 액티비티 플레이리스트를 구성해 캐릭터를 육성할 수 있다.
이와 함께 캐릭터를 강화하는 신규 아이템 ‘영물’과 ‘부적’, 제작 재료 아이템 ‘호라드림의 함’ 등이 추가되고, 전리품 필터 기능도 도입된다. 모바일 게임 ‘디아블로 이모탈’ 역시 악마술사 직업과 신규 시스템 업데이트가 예정돼 있다.
