브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= BYD코리아가 경기 의정부와 충북 청주에 BYD Auto 전시장을 동시에 오픈하며 전국 단위 전시장 네트워크 강화에 나섰다.
BYD코리아는 22일 의정부와 청주 전시장을 동시 개관했다고 밝혔다. 이번 전시장 오픈은 경기 북부와 충북 권역 전기차 고객의 접근성을 높이기 위한 전략의 일환이다.
BYD Auto 의정부 전시장은 경기 북부 주요 도심에 위치해 양주와 포천 등 인접 지역 고객의 방문 편의성이 뛰어난 것이 특징이다. 충북 권역 중심부에 자리한 BYD Auto 청주 전시장은 지난해 12월 문을 연 BYD Auto 천안 전시장과 함께 중부권 전기차 수요를 대응하는 전략 거점 역할을 맡는다. 두 전시장은 BYD코리아 공식 딜러사인 하모니 오토모빌이 운영한다.
두 전시장 모두 BYD의 브랜드 정체성을 반영한 모던하고 쾌적한 쇼룸으로 조성됐다. 지난해 출시된 소형 전기 SUV ‘아토 3’, 스포츠 중형 전기 세단 ‘씰’, 도심형 중형 전기 SUV ‘씨라이언 7’ 등 BYD의 주요 전 라인업이 전시되며, 고객이 직접 차량을 체험할 수 있는 시승 환경도 마련됐다.
BYD코리아는 신규 전시장 오픈을 기념해 오는 1월 31일 ‘그랜드 오픈’ 스페셜 프로그램을 운영한다. 단순 방문 고객에게는 소정의 기념품 또는 BYD 장우산이 제공되며, 전기차 시승을 완료한 고객에게는 두바이 쫀득 쿠키 세트가 증정된다. 이와 함께 희망 고객을 대상으로 디자인 비누 만들기 원데이 클래스 등 체험형 프로그램도 진행된다.
또한 BYD의 럭셔리 플래그십 브랜드 ‘양왕(Yangwang)’의 대표 모델 특별 전시도 이어진다. 의정부 전시장에서는 1월 30일부터 2월 9일까지 양왕 U8이, 2월 9일부터 2월 19일까지 양왕 U9이 전시된다. 청주 전시장에서는 2월 20일부터 2월 28일까지 양왕 U8 특별 전시가 진행된다.
양왕 U8은 최첨단 전동화 기술을 기반으로 모래 언덕 주행은 물론 비상 상황에서 수상 부유 주행까지 가능한 하이엔드 전기 SUV다. 양왕 U9은 최고 출력 960kW, 정지 상태에서 시속 100km까지 2.3초에 도달하는 성능을 갖춘 전기 슈퍼카로, BYD의 전동화 및 배터리 기술력을 집약적으로 보여주는 모델로 평가된다.
