청와대가 10일 북한의 한국 무인기 침투 제기 관련해 김현종 국가안보실 제1차장 주재 국가안전보장회의(NSC) 실무조정회의를 이날 정오 개최한다고 밝혔다.
청와대는 이날 오전 언론 공지를 통해 "이재명 대통령이 이번 사안에 한 점 의혹 없는 철저한 조사를 지시했다"며 이같이 전했다.
앞서 북측은 노동당 기관지 노동신문을 통한 인민군 총참모부 대변인 성명에서 '한국의 무인기 침투에 따른 대가를 각오해야 한다'고 했다.
북측에 따르면 지난 4일 12시 50분께 인천 강화군 일대에서 이륙한 무인기가 개성·황해북도 일대를 비행하며 중요 대상물을 촬영하다 개성 개풍 인근 고지에 강제 추락했다는 것. 북측은 해당 무인기가 3시간 10분 간 총 156km를 비행한 가운데 비행 고도 100~300m, 속도 시속 50km였다고 제시했다.
이에 국방부는 공식 입장을 통해 '북측이 제시한 일자에 한국군의 무인기 운영 사실이 없다'고 반박했다.
국방부에 따르면 북측이 제시한 지난 4일 드론작전사령부·지상작전사령부·해병대사령부 등 관련 부대의 무인기 비행 훈련은 이뤄지지 않았다는 것.
