청와대가 9일 "오는 13일 한·일 정상회담을 조세이 탄광 등 과거사 문제에 인도적 측면 협력 계기로 삼을 것"이라고 밝혔다.
위성락 국가안보실장은 이날 오후 방일 일정·한·일 정상회담 관련 청와대 춘추관 브리핑을 통해 "(한·일 정상회담에서 일본 측과) 과거사 문제에 인도적 차원서 협력을 강화할 것"이라며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "(조세이 탄광 문제에 대해) 서로 협의 진전을 모색하고 있는 지금은 초기 단계에서의 진전을 말한다"며 "유해 DNA 조사라든가 그런 면에서 새 진전을 모색 중"이라고 밝혔다.
또 조세이 탄광 문제 외 여타 과거사 문제 관련해선 "여러 이슈들이 거론되고 논의될 수 있는데 진전 있으면 나중에 말씀드리겠다"고 덧붙였다.
