[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 한국남동발전(이하 남동발전)이 경남도를 연고로 하는 펜싱 실업팀을 창단한다.
남동발전은 지난 7일 경남도체육회 회의실에서 경남체육회, 경남펜싱협회와 '실업팀 창단 추진 업무협약식'을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 협약식에는 강기윤 남동발전 사장을 비롯해 김오영 경남체육회 회장, 정재규 경남펜싱협회 회장 등이 참석했다.
이번 협약을 통해 남동발전은 경남 지역 펜싱 실업팀을 창단해 우수 선수 육성과 안정적인 훈련 환경 조성에 나서기로 했다.
경남체육회와 경남펜싱협회는 지역 체육 인프라와 연계한 체계적인 육성 시스템 구축에 힘을 보탤 예정이다.
이를 통해 지역 체육 활성화와 전문체육의 경쟁력 강화의 목표를 이루겠다는 다짐이다.
강기윤 남동발전 사장은 "남동발전이 경남 연고의 펜싱 실업팀을 창단함으로써 지역의 체육지도자와 선수들에게 기량 향상과 진로에 대한 희망을 주게 됐다"면서 "남동발전은 지역 이전 공기업으로서 지역 균형발전을 위한 지역경제 활성화와 일자리 창출의 사명을 다하기 위해 노력하고 있으며, 지역 스포츠 활성화를 위한 노력이 더욱 확산할 수 있도록 기여하겠다”고 말했다.
