브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 프로야구 kt wiz의 황재균(38)이 현역 은퇴를 선언했다.
kt wiz 프로야구단은 19일 공식 보도자료를 내고 “kt wiz 내야수 황재균이 20년간의 선수 생활을 마무리한다”고 밝혔다.
지난 2006년 현대 유니콘스에서 프로에 데뷔한 황재균은 이후 히어로즈와 롯데 자이언츠를 거쳐 미국 메이저리그 샌프란시스코 자이언츠에서 활약했고, 2018 시즌을 앞두고 KT와 FA 계약을 체결했다. 프로 통산 18시즌 동안 2200경기 출전, 타율 2할8푼5리, 2266안타, 227홈런, 1121타점, 1172득점, 235 도루를 기록했다.
황재균은 2020 시즌 프로 데뷔 첫 3루수 부문 골든글러브 수상에 이어, 2021 시즌에는 주장을 맡으며 팀을 창단 첫 통합 우승으로 이끌었다. 특히 2025 시즌 KBO 역대 7번째로 14시즌 연속 100안타를 달성하는 등 ‘꾸준함의 대명사’로 자리매김했다.
KBO리그를 대표하는 ‘공수겸장’ 내야수로, 2014년 인천아시안게임과 2018년 자카르타·팔렘방 아시안게임 국가대표로 출전해 각각 금메달 획득에 기여한 바 있다.

한편, 황재균의 은퇴식은 내년 시즌 초에 진행될 예정이다.
