배재대학교(김욱 총장)와 배재장학재단(강사돈 이사장)이 주최·주관한 ‘제7회 배재대학교 총장배 장학기금 마련 골프대회’가 24일 충남 부여 백제컨트리클럽에서 성황리에 개최됐다.
이번 대회에는 배재장학재단 강사돈 이사장, 김욱 배재대학교 총장, 주요 이사 및 총동창회 임원, 지역 인사, 교직원 등 200여 명이 참석해 학문과 후학 양성을 위한 뜨거운 열정을 보여주었다. 사회는 서지원 배재장학재단 사무국장(대전 서구의회 의원)이 맡아 품격 있고 따뜻한 진행으로 행사의 의미를 더했다.
대회를 통해 조성된 3,500만 원의 장학기금은 경제적 어려움으로 학업에 집중하기 어려운 학생들의 등록금 및 학업 지원금으로 전액 사용될 예정이다.

강사돈 배재장학재단 이사장은 인사말에서 “오늘의 골프대회는 배재의 전통과 정신을 계승·발전시키는 뜻깊은 자리”라며 “배재의 이름 아래 모인 모든 분들의 따뜻한 마음이 학생들에게 꿈과 용기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
김욱 배재대학교 총장은 “배재대는 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE) 사업을 통해 지역사회와 함께 성장하며, 유능한 인재를 키워내는 대학으로 자리매김하고 있다”며 “장학기금 마련 골프대회에 보내주신 성원에 보답할 수 있도록 앞으로도 인재 양성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
이번 행사는 배재학당 창립 140주년을 기념해 더욱 풍성하게 개최됐으며, 배재 정신을 널리 알리고 미래 인재 육성에 동참하는 뜻깊은 장이 됐다.

The 7th Pai Chai University President's Cup Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament, hosted and organized by Pai Chai University (President Kim Wook) and the Pai Chai Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Kang Sa-don), was successfully held on the 24th at Baekje Country Club in Buyeo, South Chungcheong Province.
