한창민 의원(사회민주당 대표)의 사회로 진행된 박정훈 대령 무죄 선고에 대한 해병대 예비역 연대 기자회견이 10일, 국회 소통관에서 개최되었다.

이 날 ‘채상병 순직 진상규명과 박정훈 대령 탄압중지’를 부르짖는 ‘해병대 예비역 연대(회장 정원철)는 “윤석열의 격노로 시작한 박정훈 대령 항명 재판은 1년의 시간이 흘러 1월 9일 어제 ‘피고인 박정훈 무죄’로 결론이 났다”며, “3만 해병대 현역과 100만 해병대 예비역의 명예를 지켜준 박정훈 대령께 경의를 표한다. 그리고 공정과 상식에 기반한 군사법원의 판결에 찬사를 보낸다”는 환영 의사를 밝혔다.

정 회장은 “우리 해병대 예비역 연대는 이제서야 한 가지 숙제를 마쳤다. 우리의 남은 숙제를 위해서 채상병 특검법을 조속히 입법하여, 순직과 수사외압의 진상을 밝혀야 한다”며, “내란수괴 윤석열과 국민의힘은 채상병 사건의 진실을 밝히기 위한 특검법을 세번이나 틀어막았다”고 날선 비판을 했다.
그는 “윤석열이 사건의 진상규명을 가로막았기에 우리는 윤석열 탄핵에 앞장섰으며 윤석열은 탄핵됐다. 내란수괴 윤석열이 버티기에 들어가면서 채상병 사건 진상규명의 소중한 시간이 흘러만 간다”며, “저희 해병대 예비역 연대는 채상병의 생일날 묘소에서 2주기 기일 전에 진상규명이 될 수 있도록 하겠다”고 강한 의지를 표명했다.
이어 “채상병과의 약속을 지킬 수 있도록 국회에서는 조속히 입법을 해주실 것을 요구한다.”며, “최상목 권한대행과 국민의힘이 진상규명을 향한 길을 막는다면, 산송장 윤석열의 전철을 밟게 해줄 것”임을 경고했다.
아울러 “국가에 헌신한 군인은 항명 수괴가 되었고, 진상규명하자는 해병대 예비역들은 좌파해병으로 매도되었다. 이제 모든 것이 만천하에 드러났다. 진짜가 가짜를 벌할 시간이다”며 목소리를 높였다.
정원철 회장은 “채상병을 죽게 한 임성근, 그 수사에 외압을 가한 윤석열과 이종섭(전 국방장관), 외압에 굴복한 김계환(전 해병대 사령관). 우리는 그들이 모든 걸 잃게 만들 것이다. 죄 없는 박정훈 대령을 항명수괴로 몰았지만, 정작 국민에게 항명한 것은 윤석열이었다. 채상병 순직의 진실을 가로막은 항명 수괴 윤석열과 종범들을 국민들이 반드시 처단할 것이다”며 경고했다.
정 회장은 “해병대 이름에 먹칠 한 임성근(당시 해병대 1사단장)과 모든 책임을 부하 박정훈 대령에게 떠넘긴 김계환은 더 이상 해병대의 일원이라 할 수 없다. 그들의 만행을 국민들이 잊지 않게 할 것이며, 엄벌에 처해지도록 해병대 예비역 연대는 우리의 역할을 다할 것"을 대내외에 천명했다.
한창민 의원은 “국회에서 채상병 특검법을 조속히 입법하여, 순직과 수사외압의 진상을 낱낱이 밝혀야 한다”며, “채상병 사건의 진실을 해병대 예비역 연대와 끝까지 함께하여 밝힐 것”을 약속했다. hpf21@naver.com
Marine Corps Reserve Regiment “We welcome the acquittal of Colonel Park Jeong-hoon... Special investigation of Chae Sang-byeong must be promoted”

On the 10th, the Marine Corps Reserve Regiment press conference on the acquittal of Colonel Park Jeong-hoon, moderated by Rep. Han Chang-min (Social Democratic Party representative), was held at the National Assembly Communication Center.
On this day, the Marine Corps Reserve Regiment (Chairman Jeong Won-cheol), which called for “the truth be revealed about Chae Sang-byeong’s death on duty and the cessation of the suppression of Colonel Park Jeong-hoon,” stated, “The trial of Colonel Park Jeong-hoon’s disobedience, which began with Yoon Seok-yeol’s fury, concluded yesterday, January 9th, with ‘the defendant Park Jeong-hoon being found not guilty,’” and “We pay tribute to Colonel Park Jeong-hoon, who protected the honor of 30,000 active-duty Marines and 1 million reserve Marines. And I applaud the court-martial’s ruling based on fairness and common sense.”
Chairman Jeong Won-cheol said, “Colonel Park Jeong-hoon, who said that he would make sure that there would be no injustice in the death of a Marine who was serving in the military to protect the Republic of Korea, did not compromise with the illegal and unfair external pressure of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration to save Lim Seong-geun.” He criticized, “During Yoon Seok-yeol’s 12.3 internal rebellion, the military and police leadership should have refused illegal and unfair orders like Colonel Park Jeong-hoon. However, it is regrettable that there was no such person in the military and police leadership of the Republic of Korea, a country governed by the rule of law.”
Chairman Jeong said, “Our Marine Corps Reserve Regiment has finally completed one task. In order to complete our remaining task, we must quickly enact the Special Prosecutor’s Act on Chae Sang-byeong and reveal the truth about his death and the pressure on the investigation.” He made a sharp criticism, saying, “The mastermind of the internal rebellion, Yoon Seok-yeol, and the People’s Power Party blocked the Special Prosecutor’s Act to reveal the truth about the Chae Sang-byeong case three times.”
He said, “Because Yoon Seok-yeol blocked the truth finding of the case, we took the lead in impeaching Yoon Seok-yeol, and Yoon Seok-yeol was impeached. As the insurgent Yoon Seok-yeol begins to hold out, precious time for the truth finding of the Chae Sang-byeong case is passing,” and expressed his strong will, saying, “Our Marine Corps Reserve Regiment will make sure that the truth is found out before the second anniversary of Chae Sang-byeong’s death at his grave on his birthday.”
He continued, “We demand that the National Assembly quickly legislate so that we can keep our promise to Chae Sang-byeong,” and warned, “If Acting President Choi Sang-mok and the People Power Party block the path to truth finding, we will make them follow in the footsteps of Yoon Seok-yeol, who is a living corpse.”
He also raised his voice, saying, “Soldiers who devoted themselves to the country have become the leaders of disobedience, and Marine Corps reserves who want to find the truth have been branded as leftist Marines. Now, everything has been revealed to the world. It is time for the real to punish the fake.”
Chairman Jeong Won-cheol warned, “Im Seong-geun, who caused the death of Chae Sang-byeong, Yoon Seok-yeol and Lee Jong-seop, who exerted external pressure on the investigation, and Kim Gye-hwan, who succumbed to external pressure. We will make them lose everything. We accused innocent Colonel Park Jeong-hoon of being the mastermind of the insubordination, but it was actually Yoon Seok-yeol who disobeyed the people. The people will definitely punish the mastermind of the insubordination, Yoon Seok-yeol, and his accomplices who obstructed the truth about Chae Sang-byeong’s death.”
Chairman Jeong declared to the public, “Im Seong-geun, who has tarnished the name of the Marine Corps, and Kim Gye-hwan, who has shifted all responsibility to his subordinate Colonel Park Jeong-hoon, can no longer be considered members of the Marine Corps. We will not let the people forget their atrocities, and the Marine Corps Reserve Regiment will do our part to ensure that they are severely punished.”
Rep.
