브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 이재명 더불어민주당 대표가 10일 '해병대 채 상병 순직 사건'을 조사하다 항명 및 상관명예훼손 혐의로 기소된 박정훈 대령(전 해병대 수사단장)이 1심에서 무죄를 선고받은 것과 관련해 "박 대령 기소한 그 군검찰들부터 철저하게 조사해 엄정하게 처벌해야 한다"라고 밝혔다.
이 대표는 이날 국회에서 열린 당 최고위원회의에 참석해 "박 대령이 무죄 판결 받은 건 축하하지만, 그동안 치렀을 그 엄청난 비용과 고통과 시간은 대체 어떻게 할 것인가"라며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "무죄가 뻔히 예상되는데 기소해서 그 고통을 준 것도 모자라 아마 또 항소할 것이다. 항소하고 무죄 나오면 또 대법원에 상고할 것"이라며 "그렇게 되면 윤석열 대통령이 전에 한 말처럼 '일단 기소해서 훈련된 검사들이 재판을 수행하면, 몇 년 지나서 무죄 판결 받아도 그 인생 다 망가진 다음이다' 이렇게 되지 않겠나"라고 지적했다.
이어 "국가 질서 유지를 위한 최후 보루여야 될 법 집행자들이 법을 집행하는 게 아니라 법을 파괴하고 있는 이 현실을 우리는 정말 참담하게 지켜보고 있다"라며 "결코 용서해서는 안 된다. 가장 나쁜 자들이다. 정의를 파괴하고, 법질서를 파괴하고, 공정을 파괴하고, 상식을 파괴했다. 앞으로 이런 행위에 대해서는 엄정하게 책임을 물어야 한다"라고 주장했다.
이 대표는 '채 상병 순직 사건 특검법'을 "신속하게 다시 추진하겠다"라고도 했다.
