워크숍은 전남 마이스산업을 활성화하고 마이스 관계자의 역량을 강화하기 위해 열렸다. 22개 시군과 관광재단 관계자 30여 명이 참석해 전남 마이스산업 활성화에 대한 높은 관심을 보였다.
행사에선 전남 유니크베뉴 선정·지원, 마이스 기반 육성 지원 등 전남도 마이스산업 시책과 여수시 마이스 활성화 우수사례 공유를 통해 전남 마이스산업의 발전 가능성을 공유하고 관계자 의견을 수렴해 상호 협력 기반을 강화했다.
이어 박준영 광주시관광공사 본부장이 ‘전남 마이스산업 활성화 방안’을 주제로 마이스산업 현황 및 동향, 전남 마이스산업의 나아갈 방향을 강의했다.
이석호 전남도 관광개발과장은 “전남은 풍부한 생태문화 자원, 매력적 유니크베뉴를 보유한 휴양형 마이스산업의 최적지”라며 “지역 강점을 살린 차별화된 마이스산업 육성을 통해 전남이 대표적 마이스 관광도시로 자리매김토록 시군과 함께 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

The workshop was held to revitalize Jeollanam-do's MICE industry and strengthen the capacity of MICE officials. Approximately 30 officials from 22 cities, counties, and tourism foundations attended, showing great interest in revitalizing Jeollanam-do's MICE industry.
