[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시가 9일 시장 접견실에서 한강유역환경청과 ‘일회용품 없는 축제 만들기’를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.
10일 진행된 협약식엔 이상일 용인특례시장, 김동구 한강유역환경청장과 관계자 10여명이 참석했다.
협약에 따라 시는 지역축제에 대한 정보를 사전에 한강환경유역청과 공유하고 축제장 내 음식 관련 부스를 운영할 때 일회용품을 제한하고 다회용기를 사용할 수 있도록 적극 노력키로 했다.
한강유역환경청은 시가 일회용품 없는 축제를 열 수 있도록 적극적으로 지원할 방침이다.
이 시장은 “협약에 앞서 25년 동안 이중 규제로 문제 됐던 경안천 변 한강수계 보호구역을 해제하는 데 결정적인 역할을 해주셨고, 또 송탄상수원 보호구역 해제 절차를 위해서도 많은 도움을 주신 한강유역환경청 김동구 청장님을 비롯한 관계자들께 진심으로 감사드린다”고 말했다.
이 시장은 이어 “기후위기 극복을 위해 한강환경유역청과 이런 뜻깊은 협약을 맺게 된 것을 의미 있게 생각하고, 협약에 담긴 정신을 잘 실천하는 것이 중요한 만큼 시에서 많은 신경을 쓰겠다”고 강조했다.

시와 한경유역환경청은 지난달 개최된 ‘용인마라톤 대회’에서 일회용품 사용을 줄일 수 있도록 푸드트럭과 급수대에서 다회용기를 사용해 행사를 여는 등 함께 노력한 바 있다.
