특히 참여 어르신께 방한 조끼와 장갑 등 건강보호 물품을 지급하고, 한파 및 대설주의보 발령 시 실내활동 등 참여 방법과 시간을 탄력적으로 운영해 고령자의 건강 관리는 물론 활동비 지급에도 차질이 없도록 힘쓰기로 했다.
노인 일자리에 참여하는 한 어르신은 “매년 참여해 수입도 생기고 활동을 하면서 건강관리도 돼 좋은데 겨울철이라고 방한용품까지 준다니 더 만족스럽다”고 말했다.
이상심 전남도 보건복지국장은 “혹한기엔 추위에 취약한 어르신의 건강과 안전을 최우선으로 할 계획”이라며 “방한물품 지급, 활동시간 탄력적 운영, 안전교육 등을 통해 사업이 끝날 때까지 참여 어르신이 건강하고 사고가 발생하지 않도록 하면서 활동비도 보전하도록 세심히 살피겠다”고 말했다.
