【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 괴산군농업기술센터가 농촌진흥청 주관 ‘2024년도 병해충·기상재해 대응 우수사례 경진대회’에서 최우수 기관으로 선정됐다.
괴산군은 병해충과 기상재해로 인한 농업 피해를 최소화하기 위한 선도적 대응을 인정받아 이번 수상의 영예를 안았다고 9일 밝혔다.
병해충 기상재해 우수사례 경진대회는 전국 농촌지도기관을 대상으로 병해충, 기상재해 등 농업 재해대응 분야의 우수사례를 발굴하고 시상을 통해 성과 확산을 도모하기 위해 마련됐다.
농업기술센터는 “농업의 미래를 지키는 방패, 농업 재해대응과 병해충 방제의 현장 속에서”란 주제로 병해충 적기 예찰과 기상재해, 병해충 발생 대응 매뉴얼에 따른 신속 대응으로 농산물 안정 생산에 기여한 실적이 높은 평가를 받았다.
괴산군은 산림과 평야가 혼재된 지리적 특성과 내륙성 기후로 병해충 발생 위험이 큰 지역이다.
특히, 최근 몇 년간 확산된 과수화상병은 사과와 배 농가에 큰 타격을 주며, 농업인 비율이 40%에 달하는 괴산군에서 신속한 재해 대응의 필요성을 증대시켰다.
괴산군농업기술센터는 병해충 피해를 줄이기 위해 △충북 최초 병해충 예찰 플랫폼 도입 △과수화상병 예측 시스템 활용 △합동예찰 강화 등 혁신적인 방제 전략을 통해 기상 변화에 유연히 대응했다.
적기 예찰과 신속한 상황 전파, 방제 지원 등을 통해 병해충 피해를 최소화하기 위한 총력전을 펼쳤다.
또한, 농업 재해 및 병해충 방제를 위해 17억 원의 예산을 투입해 신기술 보급사업을 추진하고, 과수·고추·콩·벼 등 주요 작물의 긴급 방제 약제비를 지원하며 농업인 부담 경감과 병해충 방제에 힘썻다.
군 관계자는 “농업기술센터 직원 모두가 현장에서 땀 흘려가며 기상재해와 병해충 종합 대응을 위해 적극적인 현장기술 지도를 펼쳐 좋은 성과를 낼 수 있었다” 며 “앞으로도 선제적인 농업 재해대응을 통해 농산물 안정생산 구축에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
