【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 농촌의 인력난 해소와 농가소득 증대에 기여하기 위해 전국 최초로 시행한 ‘증평형 농촌일손 더하기’ 시범사업이 지역 농민들에게 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.
9일 군에 따르면, 증평형 농촌일손 더하기는 농협과 연계 협력해 추진한 농촌인력 지원정책으로 지난 10월부터 시행됐다.
장시간 근로인력이 필요한 시기인 수확철(10월, 11월)에 맞춰 시작된만큼 농촌 현장에서 큰 도움을 주며 농가로부터 폭발적인 반응을 이끌어냈다.
이 사업은 하루 8시간 인력을 고용하는 농가를 대상으로, 고용된 인력의 비용 일부를 지원하는 방식으로 운영된다.
조합원은 7만5000원, 비조합원은 5만원이 지원된다.
이를 통해 도시농부의 단시간 근로(4시간)에 따른 인력 부족 문제와 외국인 계절근로자의 상시 고용에 따른 부담을 동시에 완화하며 실질적인 도움을 제공하고 있다.
사업 첫해인 올해 74개 농가에서 3172명을 신청했으며, 군은 지원기준 및 우선순위에 따라 1000명을 농가에 지원했다.
증평읍 사곡리 한 농가는 “바쁜 수확철에 실질적으로 도움이 되는 정책”이라며, “농번기에 발생하는 인력 공백을 해소해 안정적으로 수확 작업을 마칠 수 있었다”며 만족감을 나타냈다.
군은 12월 중 성과분석회를 열어 사업의 성과와 개선점을 논의하고 농민들의 의견을 반영해 사업을 보완해 나간다는 방침이다.
또 내년에는 사업을 확대해 상반기부터 1,000명의 인력을 지원하며 지속적으로 지원 규모를 늘려나갈 계획이다.
이재영 군수는 “농촌의 어려운 현실 속에서 숙련된 일손 고용으로 농가에 도움이 됐길 바란다”며, “이번 사업이 증평형 아이돌봄, 노인돌봄에 이어 지역 맞춤형 정책으로 자리잡아 전국적으로 확산되는 모범 사례가 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.
