【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=지역인재 양성과 교육 발전을 위한 장학금 기탁이 이어지고 있어 지역사회를 훈훈하게 하고 있다.
(재)음성군장학회(이사장 조병옥)는 9일 국제라이온스협회 356-D(충북)지구 제6지역, 음성군 동행봉사대, ㈜광메탈에서 장학금을 기탁했다고 밝혔다.
국제라이온스협회 356-D(충북)지구 제6지역(지역위원장 허재영)은 300만 원의 장학금을 기탁했다.
음성군 내 12개 클럽과 400여 명의 회원으로 구성된 국제라이온스협회는 장학금 기탁 외에도 취약계층 주거환경 개선을 위한 ‘사랑의 집짓기’사업, 금왕읍 화재 피해 가구 성금 전달, 설성문화제 행사장 및 봉학골 청소 등 지역사회 내에서 각종 봉사 활동을 펼치고 있다.

이어 같은 날 음성군 동행봉사대(회장 강영훈)는 100만 원의 장학금을 기탁했다.
음성군 동행봉사대는 지역 내 거주하는 장애인 및 저소득층과 불우이웃의 편안하고 안정된 사회생활을 돕기 위해 만든 단체로, 40여 명의 회원들이 십시일반 모은 회비로 장학금을 마련했다.

또한 ㈜광메탈(대표 이강준, 정수경)에서도 3000만 원의 장학금을 기탁했다.
㈜광메탈은 생극면 소재 고철, 비금속 가공 처리 및 일반폐기물 처리 업체로, 2022년부터 (재)음성군장학회에 꾸준히 기탁해 현재까지 총 9000만 원을 기탁했다.
기탁식에 참석한 정수경 대표는 “경제적으로 어려운 학생들에게 꿈을 키우고 미래 사회의 선도적 인재로 성장할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 싶었다”며 “앞으로도 사회공헌 활동을 통해 나눔 문화 확산에 적극 노력하겠다”고 기탁 소감을 밝혔다.
조병옥 (재)음성군장학회 이사장은 “지역 미래인재 양성을 위해 소중한 뜻을 모아 정성을 베풀어 주심에 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “우리 학생들이 더욱 훌륭한 인재로 거듭날 수 있도록 최선을 다해 지원하겠다”고 답했다.
